LETTER FROM THE TWILIGHT LEXICON:
Hey, everyone! I have a lot of new things to tell you guys.
Our partner from "The Keep Taylor Project" sent us a message from Laura (the Twilight Lexicon) regarding our letters to Summit. I post it here because I think it's important. They give us really good advice.
So, here it is:
As a site we've always maintained neutrality when it comes to casting. Even though 63% of our site members support Taylor staying throughout the series, 37% have different ideas. So we really can't participate in a site box project.
I would also make a couple of other suggestions:
February 11 will be way to late for letters to arrive. For anything to be remotely effective it has to arrive by early January at the latest. Contracts will be with agents and lawyers long before then.
Boxing the letters up isn't a great idea because it's too easy for boxes to get taken right out to the trash or shoved to the side neatly in the corner. They never even have to open them, whereas thousands of letters arriving along with the monthly bills that's going to get noticed because they have to got through the mail to find what's necessary for day to day operations.
Also statistically, form letters are far less successful than originals. The reason is that a person can print off 10 form letters, sign 10 names and it's not that hard to boost numbers. Organizations that get letter campaigns routinely count down form letters. People are way better off doing original letters using the excellent points that you suggest in their own words.
So we can link to a project, but we can't do a site box.

So, that's what we're going to do. People who can't write more or less properly in English can get the form we made. So, if you aren't confident with your English, you can print and send the next form (thanks to our French partners from The Meadow):

You can use the empty form so they know we're all linked somehow, and that we're organised. Print the form and write your text there. You can find it here (thanks to our partners from The Meadow again):
Be proffesional, be creative, no profanity. Please, do not be rude and do not write silly immature things like: "I want Taylor in New Moon because he's soooo hot!"
These are some good points you can include:
- Loss of money.
- Numbers of people are not going to see the movie.
- Taylor Lautner is a great actor who plays the role perfectly.
- Taylor deserves the part having researched and come to an understanding of his character.
- Cast changes always change the outlook of the series, as has been seen before in other movies, for the worse.

LET'S DO THIS THE RIGHT WAY:
Ok, everyone. I've been hearing some complaints from Michael Copon's fans regarding Taylor's fans.
It seems that a lot of people is writing some very disrespectful things in Michael's Facebook.
From here, I want to ask the people who's doing that to stop doing such thing.
First, because this supposed replacement isn't Michael's fault, it's Summit's, and I don't think he deserves the attacks. Ok, I agree that he wasn't very polite to the fans when he posted he was going to be the next Jacob Black in his Facebook before the real rumours started. The fans didn't deserve to be told about the possibility of a replacement like that. We should have known about it from an official announcement by Taylor or Summit. But still, we wouldn't like it if they were doing the same thing to Taylor. We must behave with respect and maturity if we want them to take us in account. So, please, put all your efforts in Summit.
Second, because that's not the best way to help Taylor. If whoever is doing that keeps doing it, Summit will think that we're just some obsessive fans who will get adjusted to the changes after a few months. Because if we aren't capable of behaving in a mature, polite and respectful way, they most definitely won't respect us either.
So please, please, stop being like that. Let's fight for Taylor without bashing another actor just because we're upset over this situation. We can do it if we work together. But we have to do this right!

¡Hola a todos! Tengo un montón de cosas nuevas que contaros.
Nuestra socia desde "The Keep Taylor Project" nos envió un mensaje de Laura (de Twilight Lexicon) respecto a nuestras cartas a Summit. Lo pongo aquí porque creo que es importante. Nos dan muy buenos consejos.
Así que, aquí está:
Como web siempre hemos mantenido la neutralidad con respecto al proceso de casting. Aunque el 63% de nuestros miembros apoya que Taylor se quede durante toda la saga, el 37% tiene otras ideas. Así que realmente no podemos participar en el proyecto mandando una caja de cartas desde la web.
Querría hacer algunas sugerencias:
El 11 de Febrero será demasiado tarde para que las cartas lleguen. Para hacer algo que sea remotamente efectivo, las cartas tienen que llegar a principios de Enero como muy tarde. Los contratos con agentes y abogados serán mucho antes.
Empaquetar las cartas no es una gran idea, porque es demasiado fácil tirarlas diréctamente a la basura o acumularlas ordenadamente en un rincón. Ni siquiera tendrían que abrirlas, mientras que si llegan miles de cartas junto con las facturas del mes no pasará desapercibido, ya que tendrán que ir descartándolas a mano para encontrar lo que necesitaran en sus operaciones diarias.
También, estadísticamente los textos ya escritos tienen mucho menos éxito que los originales. La razón es que una persona puede imprimir 10 formularios y firmar con 10 nombres, y no es tan difícil impulsar los números. Las organizaciones que reciben campañas por carta de forma rutinaria descuentan las cartas en formulario. Sería mejor que la gente escribiera cartas originales usando los excelentes argumentos que sugerís con sus propias palabras.
Entonces, podemos poner un link al proyecto, pero no podemos hacer una caja de cartas de la web.

Bueno, pues eso es lo que vamos a hacer. La gente que no sepa escribir más o menos decentemente en inglés puede coger la carta ya escrita. Así que, si no te sientes muy seguro con tu inglés, puedes imprimir y enviar el siguiente formulario (gracias a nuestros socios franceses desde The Meadow):

Se profesional, se creativo, sin blasfemias. Por favor, no séas maleducado y no escribas cosas tontas e inmaduras como: "¡Quiero a Taylor en Luna Nueva porque está muuuuy bueno!"
Aquí os dejo algunos buenos argumentos que podéis incluir:
- Pérdida de dinero.
- Un gran número de personas no irá a ver las películas.
- Taylor Lautner es un gran actor que hace el papel de forma perfecta.
- Taylor se merece el papel después de haberse informado y haber llegado a comprender su personaje.
- Los cambios en el elenco siempre cambian la perspectiva de una saga, como se hav isto en otras películas, para peor.

VAMOS A HACERLO BIEN:
Vale, gente. He estado oyendo algunas quejas de los fans de Michael Copon referidas a los fans de Taylor.
Parece que un montón de gente está escribiendo algunas cosas muy irrespetuosas en el Facebook de Michael.
Desde aquí, quiero pedir a la gente que lo esté haciendo que pare de hacer tal cosa.
Primero, porque este supuesto reemplazo no es culpa de Michael, es culpa de Summit, y no creo que él se merezca los ataques. Vale, estoy de acuerdo con que él no fue muy educado con los fans cuando posteó que iba a ser el siguiente Jacob Black en su Facebook antes de que los verdaderos rumores comenzaran. Los fans no nos merecíamos que nos hablaran de la posibilidad de un reemplazo de esa forma. Deberíamos habernos enterado gracias a un anuncio oficial de boca de Taylor o Summit. Pero aún así, a nosotros no nos gustaría que hicieran lo mismo con Taylor. Debemos comportarnos con respeto y madurez si queremos que nos tengan en cuenta. Así que, por favor, poned todos vuestros esfuerzos en Summit.
Segundo, porque ésa no es la mejor forma de ayudar a Taylor. Si quienquiera que esté haciendo éso sigue haciéndolo, Summit va a pensar que somos símplemente algunos fans obsesionados que se acostumbrarán a los cambios después de unos meses. Porque si no somos capaces de comportarnos de forma madura, educada y respetuosa, definitívamente Summit no nos respetará a nosotros.
Así que, por favor, por favor, no sigáis así. Vamos a luchar por Taylor sin meternos con otro actor sólo porque estamos afectados por esta situación. Podemos conseguirlo si trabajamos juntos. ¡Pero tenemos que hacerlo bien!
