SUMMIT HASN'T HIRED BAYONA YET
That's what Patrick Goldstein, from Los Angeles Times, reported yesterday.
It appears that Mr. Goldstein had lunch with Erik Feig, who, as you all know, is the guy from Summit who is in charge of the Twilight series. Goldstein assured his readers that Feig was shocked when he saw the news about Bayona being hired:
The 'Eclipse' directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else. We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job.
Goldstein said that no one called Summit to check out the rumours. Neither Nikki Finke, from Deadline Hollywood, nor Dave McNary, from Variety.
Goldstein also wrote that Bayona had met with Summit and was one of the directors being considered, even though he wasn't hired yet:
As it turns out, Bayona was in town and had a Wednesday meeting with Summit execs, who are certainly impressed by his resume. Bayona has also met with "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer, who has a lot to say about any key creative choices made on each film in the series. On the other hand, Bayona has told friends that he isn’t sure he wants to tackle the film. Though he also admires the series, he's concerned about how much creative involvement he would have coming in to direct the third installment in a series, where most of the casting and character development is already in place.

NIKKI STANDS BY HER STORY: JUAN ANTONIO BAYONA WILL DIRECT ECLIPSE
Nikki's article in the Deadline Hollywood is titled "Summit's Feig Apologizes To Me Tonight".
She told her readers that Erik Feig is accusing Los Angeles Times blogger Patrick Goldstein of misquoting him in yesterday's article. He added that there's no policy at his studio demanding that journalists must contact him if they want to write about Summit's films.
Finke also said:
And she added:
For Feig, she has a challenge:

We don't really like these kind of controversies, but as we published Variety's article yesterday, we felt obligated to publish the other side of the coin, if you know what I mean.
So, what do you think about all this? We sure as hell don't know what to think anymore.

For Feig, she has a challenge:
I look forward to Feig demonstrating that being a Hollywood exec, and doing the right thing, are not mutually exclusive.

SUMMIT TODAVÍA NO HA CONTRATADO A BAYONA
Eso es lo que Patrick Goldstein, de Los Angeles Times, publicó ayer.
Parece que el señor Goldstein comió con Erik Feig, quien, como todos sabéis, es el tipo de Summit que está a cargo de la saga Crepúsculo. Goldstein aseguró a sus lectores que Feig se sorprendió mucho cuando vio las noticias acerca de la contratación de Bayona:
El trabajo de dirección de 'Eclipse' no ha sido ofrecido a Juan Antonio, ni a nadie más. Nos hemos reunido con tres o cuatro directores talentosos y nos reuniremos con otros tres o cuatro más antes de tomar ninguna decisión. El trabajo no ha sido ofrecido a nadie.
Goldstein dijo que nadie llamó a Summit para contrastar los rumores. Ni Nikki Finke, de Deadline Hollywood, ni Dave McNary, de Variety.
Goldstein también escribió que Bayona se había reunido con Summit y que era uno de los directores que estaban siendo considerados aunque todavía no lo hubieran contratado:
Sí que es cierto que Bayona estuvo en la ciudad y tuvo una reunión el Miércoles con los ejecutivos de Summit, quienes se impresionaron mucho con su currículum. Bayona también se reunió con la autora, Stephenie Meyer, quien tiene mucho que decir acerca de cualquier elección creativa hecha en cada película de la saga. Por otro lado, Bayona ha dicho a algunos amigos que no está seguro de querer conseguir el trabajo. Aunque admira la saga, está preocupado acerca de hasta dónde podrá utilizar su propia creatividad al dirigir la tercera parte de una saga donde la mayor parte del elenco y el desarrollo de los personajes ya está asentada.

Feig añadió que no hay ninguna política en su estudio que demande que los periodistas contacten con él si quieren escribir acerca de las películas de Summit.

A nosotras no nos gustan realmente este tipo de controversias, pero como publicamos ayer el artículo de Variety, nos sentimos obligadas a publicar la otra cara de la moneda, si sabéis a lo que me refiero.
Así que, ¿qué pensáis acerca de todo ésto? Nosotras realmente ya no sabemos que pensar.
